CHAS-2® Amplifier and Power Supply Modules
At the heart of the CHAS-2 Headend Amplifier System is the CHAS-2 Headend Amplifier Module. The amplifiers feature separate RF and DC compartments for maximum EMI shielding, as well as large vertical fins that dissipate heat efficiently, eliminating the need for cooling fans. All amplifiers are 1 GHz and have four (4) ports: signal input, signal output, input test and output test point. CHAS2 Status Monitoring
There are two main options to monitor the CHAS2
Headend Amplifier System: Contact Closure and
Web Based monitoring.
For those cable operators employing a proprietary
monitoring system, the CHAS2 is available with a
contact closure equipped chassis. The chassis incorporates an alarm interface that provides 8 individual dry contact closure alarms, each related to a specific slot in the chassis.
For Web Based monitoring, each chassis can be
equipped with either a Master or Slave card. Each
Master Card has a unique MAC address, and Internet
interface (WEBSITE) allowing remote monitoring via
web browser, allowing the CHAS2 to be seamlessly

CHAS-2® Dual Sense A/B Switch
CableServ has developed the CHAS2 Dual Sensing RF Redundant Transfer Switch as an additional component of the CHAS-2 Headend Amplifier System. Designed as a modular unit similar to the CHAS-2 Power Supply and Amplifier Modules, the RF Switch fits into any slot in the CHAS-2 Chassis. The CHAS-2 Dual Sensing A/B SWX is an RF power transfer design that will automatically switch between a Primary and Secondary RF source. Any two RF sources may be employed, as the RF Switch senses the average power of the Primary (A) source and transfers to the Secondary (B) source when the (A) source drops below a set threshold level.
